Our party band plays Classic Rock from the 70s, 80s, & 90s, Pop from the 2000s, a touch of Alternative, and a hint of Funk.
Our goal is to provide an immersive experience that captivates and stimulates the senses.
It starts with the music. Misspent Youth faithfully reproduces some of the most memorable guitar riffs from the golden age of music and pairs them with the soaring lyrics that dominated the period.
We use touring-quality sound and lighting equipment in conjunction with haze machines to help turn your event into something truly memorable. Our sound system has an output of over 22,000 watts of power, but don't worry. We will adjust the configuration and output to whatever is appropriate for the venue size. Our light show consists of 18 wash lights and 10 moving beam heads to immerse our audience in a constantly-evolving sea of color and special effects.
We have embraced the concept of a quiet stage, so you won't see acoustic drums, stacks of guitar amplifiers, and speaker cabinets blasting music toward the audience from behind the performers. Instead, we use direct inputs that send our instruments' signals straight to the mixing board, stage monitors which direct stage sound away from the audience, and in-ear monitors which produce no external sound at all. The result - we are able to produce a significantly cleaner sound for the audience from the front-of-house mix because we are not competing with drums, massive stage amplifiers, and speakers. This makes our production ideal for all types of venues. Whether it's a cozy restaurant or a convention center, we can produce a front of house mix that your patrons will enjoy.
We use a family-friendly mindset to our performances. We believe that you're never too young to enjoy some of the best music ever made. While the Rock and Roll genre is inherently about "sex, drugs, and rock and roll", with misspent youth, you will never have to worry about explicit language or gestures being used on stage.
Enjoy some excerpts of our recent work.
First, we will need a path free of obstacles from the parking area to the performance area to move our equipment in and out. We will need a minimum of 30 inches of clearance through all hallways and doorways. Elevation changes greater than four (4) feet will need a ramp with a slope no greater than 4 inches of rise for every 12 inches of length or elevator access.
For the full production with all of our lights and sound, we need access to five (5) individual 120 volt, electrical circuits, meaning circuits on individual breakers. At least three of these circuits must be 20 amp circuits and have 20 amp receptacles. THe remainder can be either 15 or 20 amp circuits. Alternatively, you can have an electrician connect our power feed directly to your service panel and we will supply the breakers. The photo at left is a 20 amp receptacle. Note the sideways "T" shape on the left side of the receptacle. If it doesn't have the sideways "T" shape, it's NOT a 20 amp receptacle.
For smaller venues where only a fraction of our lights are needed, three (3) 15-amp circuits should suffice.
For any questions, about power, send us a message at info.misspentyouth.net or call William @ 662-633-1903.
We need a space suitable for the production. Ideally, a 16' deep X 20' wide space with a buffer of an additional 4 feet in front and 4 feet behind the stage for lighting and PA equipment. A 12-foot ceiling height above the stage is optimal. We can use a smaller stage and ceiling height if circumstances dictate, and we will modify out light show accordingly.
For maximum enjoyment of your guests, we prefer playing from a stage so that folks beyond the front row can see the show. Playing from a stage delivers more energy and excitement for everyone! We can and will play from floor level, but we guarantee everyone will have a better experience if we are able to be seen by all in attendance. We reserve the right to inspect any stage to ensure the safety of the band and participants before playing a show.
